Since I was in middle school, I really enjoyed art. I got more into art and specifically photography in high school. In fact, I took all photography classes offered. Portrait photography is my favorite. Due to time and business, I set my camera down a couple years ago. I still find time as images present themselves using my iPhone. All the photos that I include on this blog are my own.
This past fall, I had the desire to get back into art a little. I write poetry when I’m inspired to, but drawing was always something I loved, but was never great at. I inherently believe that I should be endowed with every skill I have ever aspired to have. Music being the big on in that mindset. I picked up and tried charcoal for the first time in October. I really liked it. My hands were black by the time I was done. I also found that my drawings were dark in nature. I’m not sure why. Most of the time I’m a very happy person.
I have stuck with drawing when I have time, or when I feel I need to put some charcoal to paper. It’s a great way to de-stress and decompress. I don’t think I will ever make art a career. I’m not good enough for that. I also don’t want to sell my art. Nobody would buy it, and honestly, I do it for selfish reasons. I just wanted to share a few drawings with you.
Do you do any art to get it out, leave it on the table, and walk away when it’s done?
